<ul>Weligama literally “Sandy Village”, also referred as ‘Red Bay’ due to its rose-red cliffs is the stunning stretch of the bay beach around the island of Taprobane located 144 km south of Colombo.</br>
<br>Taprobane island is the most striking feature of the Weligama bay beach. It is located just offshore with a covering of luxuriant trees. The eastern part of Weligama beach favours for surfing.
