<ul>Belilena, a prehistoric cave has located 7 km from Kitulgala. It was yielded human skeletons of Homo sapiens balangodensis confirming the presence of prehistoric humans 32,000 years ago. It was also yielded remains of animals, such as Sambar deer, Wild boar, several monkey species, reptiles, and edible parts of plants such as breadfruit and Kekuna nuts. At Belilena you will be able to witness the major sites of mankind's development tens of thousands of years ago from your naked eye. The waterfall sprays over the cave’s entrance create a panoramic scene and the natural beauty in the surrounding area would be breathtaking. </ul>
