<ul>Dumbara mats, a unique Sri Lankan handicraft in the form of a wall hanging mainly produced in the village of Henavala in Patadumbara divisional secretariat, 13 km east of Kandy.</br>
<br>They have extracted the fiber of a plant similar to jute and weave it on a primitive horizontal loom with an intricate design of birds, animals, and flowers. The traditional mat-weaver caste known as the Kinnaras who inhabit this village still employ an age-old weaving process is a fascinating activity to watch.
