<ul>While you are traveling on Colombo - Kandy road you will find an area with a number of shops displaying wickerwork craft products on either side of the road. This area is called Weweldeniya literally means in Sinhala as cane rich area. It is located 50 km northeast of Colombo and 37 km southwest of Pinnawala. As cane grows naturally in Sri Lanka, wickerwork has been practiced from bygone times. The craftsmen have produce chairs, tables, corner stands, vases, and hundreds of different products according to their artistic talent.</ul>
