If you are coming here in the month of July most probably you will be able to participate annual Kataragama Pada Yathra with the devotees from the Northern and Eastern coasts of the country. <br></li><li>You will be picked up at 5.00 am and will reach the entrance by 6.00 am. You will be able to see leopards, elephants, and other animals and birds. A lot of residents and migratory birds and crocodiles would be able to see the “Kumana Villu” area. </li><li> Afternoon visit Kudumbigala Buddhist Monastery at the top of a rock, about 26 Km south of Arugam Bay. It is about 2 hours hike to the top of the rock and the view from the top is amazing. </li><li> On the way from kudumbugala to Arugam Bay, the unique village of Panama is found. This is the one and the only village that inhabitants though predominantly Sinhala are all Tamil speaking (as a mother tongue).
