DAY - 3 (Mannar – Jaffna) |

<ul><li>Breakfast at the hotel.</li><li>Explore Mannar old lighthouse at Urumale and Talaimannar lighthouse.</li><li>Mannar old lighthouse is inactive at present and only the iron structure is available.</li><li>Thalaimannar lighthouse is located near Talaimannar pier.</li><li>Then explore the Mannar fort which has square-shaped with four bastions. It was first built by the Portuguese in 1560 and rebuilt by the Dutch in 1696. </li><li>Then transfer you to Jaffna. Approximately 2 hours’ drive. </li><li>En-route visit Pooneryn fort, probably originally built by the Portuguese.</li><li>Overnight stay and dinner at the Fort Hammenhiel Resort in Karainagar.</li><li>Fort Hammenhiel is a fort firstly built by the Portuguese around the small islands between the islands of Kayts and Karaitivu of the Jaffna Peninsula. Then the Dutch rebuilt the fort in 1680 and maintained a garrison of about thirty soldiers. The British used this fort as a maximum-security prison. Today it is a Tourist Resort where you can experience real-time living and sleep within an actual prison cell.</li></ul> |

<ul><li>Early breakfast at the hotel.<br></li><li>Transfer to the naval base to take the boat to Adams’ Bridge national park for bird watching and explore islets of Adam’s bridge</li><li>The Indian epic Ramayana speaks about a bridge called Setubandhanam, a bridge over the ocean connecting Sri Lanka with India. Today it is called Adam’s Bridge and there are 16 islets of 8 belongs to Sri Lanka. Due to the shallowness of the sea in the area, the maritime biodiversity is very high and marine mammals such as Dolphins, Whales, and Dugong can be seen in this area and diversity of fish is also very high therefore the area was declared as a Marine national park and the second islet can be visited. </li><li>Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel Agape, Mannar.</li></ul> |
