Kalpitiya is one of the best places in the world to sight the pods of a spinner, bottlenose and Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins submerging and re-emerging from the sparkling water and Sperm Wheals and occasional Blue Wheals.</li><li>Then transfer you to Mannar. Approximately 5 hours’ drive.</li><li>En-route visit Doric Bungalow, a colonial-era building Arippu East, and Arippu fort built near the pearl banks at that period. Doric Bungalow was the residence for British governors in Sri Lanka when they are visited Mannar for reviving and supervising pearl fishing. The caves at Thanthirimale had been inhabited by the Megalithic man in Sri Lanka where Paleolithic cave paintings and some primitive drawings done by Veddah people were discovered. </li><li>Mary’s Church at Madhu located 50 km south-east of Mannar was started to build in 1876, home to the statue of Our Lady of Madhu. Today it is called Adam’s Bridge and there are 16 islets of 8 belongs to Sri Lanka. Due to the shallowness of the sea in the area, the maritime biodiversity is very high and marine mammals such as Dolphins, Whales, and Dugong can be seen in this area and diversity of fish is also very high therefore the area was declared as a Marine national park and the second islet can be visited. </li><li>Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel Agape, Mannar.</li></ul> |
