Decsription

<ul>Mannar Fort was first built by the Portuguese in 1560 and rebuilt by the Dutch in 1658. It is a square-shaped fort with 4 bastions ringed by a moat and its ramparts. It is located side of the Mannar bridge.

The caves at Thanthirimale had been inhabited by the Megalithic man in Sri Lanka where Paleolithic cave paintings and some primitive drawings done by Veddah people were discovered. </li><li>Mary’s Church at Madhu located 50 km south-east of Mannar was started to build in 1876, home to the statue of Our Lady of Madhu.
