DAY - 2 (Kandy – Balana battlefield – Kandy) |

<ul><li>Breakfast at the hotel.<br></li><li>Ready for a cycling tour to the battlefield at Balana where the deadly battles against colonial invaders and the Kandyan Kingdom were occurred from time to time since the 16th century.</li><li>This cycling tour takes you up to the Balana fort near Alagalla Mountain Range and coming back to Kandy by train from the Balana railway station.</li><li>The cycling tour starts around 9.30 am from Kandy goes through the picturesque villages, historical temples, and tea plantations. <ul><li>You will be picked up from the hotel at 5.30 am for the Whales and Dolphin watching tour. Tour takes about 3 hours. Picnic breakfast will be served. </li><li>Trincomalee is an internationally important destination for seen Blue whales and Spinner Dolphins.</li><li>Then start a city tour in Trincomalee town. You can visit Koneshwaram Hindu Temple situated atop of the Swami Rock is a classical medieval Hindu Temple devoted to God Shiva, containing ornate shrines and a massive statue of Shiva and nearby Lovers’ Leap or Ravana’s cleft at Swami Rock is a rock cleft approximately 106.68m above sea level. </li><li>Then explore Fort Frederick or Trincomalee fort first built by the Portuguese, completed in1624, and was dismantled and rebuilt by the Dutch in 1665. They renamed it, Fort Fredrick. </li><li>Then try for another boat ride close to Round Island in the bay of Trincomalee to explore presently inactive Kevuliya Lighthouse (Round Island Lighthouse). It was built in 1863 for providing navigational aid for ships coming into the Trincomalee Harbour during the British colonial period.</li><li>Overnight dinner and stay at Anilana Nilaveli.</li></ul> |

Approximately 5 and a half hours’ drive.</li><li>En-route visit to explore Batticaloa Fort, Batticaloa Lighthouse, Oluwil Lighthouse, and Sangamankanda Point Lighthouse.</li><li>Batticaloa Fort was first built by the Portuguese in 1628 and it was destroyed by the Dutch in 1639. The Dutch have renovated and completed it in 1707. Batticaloa Lighthouse was built in 1913.</li><li>Oluwil lighthouse was built in 1999. It was the first lighthouse built after the British colonial era.</li><li>Sangamankanda Point is the east most point in Sri Lanka. The Sangamankanda Point Lighthouse was built in 1947 with a height of 7.62m. During the 2004 Tsunami, it was destroyed and now the only pillar of the lighthouse can be seen.</li><li>Overnight dinner and stay at The Blue Wave, Arugam Bay.</li></ul> |

If you are love hiking you can hike up to the top of the fall.</li><li>Adisham Bungalow, a country house was built by a tea planter Sir Thomas Lester Villiers in 1931. </li><li>Afternoon visit to explore the “Nine arch bridge” and “Demodara Loop” lays the railway line between Demodara and Ella. <ul><li>Early morning starts Trekking to Ella Rock. You will pass through beautiful countryside, tea plantations, and railway lines till you reach the peak. It will take about 4 hours for a complete trek from start to end. <br></li><li>Late breakfast at the hotel.</li><li>Transfer you to Haldummulla. Approximately 1 and a half hours’ drive.</li><li>Explore Haldummulla Portuguese Fort also known as Katugodalla Fort was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Foundation is only available today. </li><li>Then transfer you to Colombo. Approximately 5 hours’ drive.</li><li>En-route explore Ratnapura Dutch Fort, originally built by the Portuguese in 1620 and was captured and destroyed by the Kandyan King.
