149	44	16	Bird watching, Kalametiya bird sanctuary	Bird watching, Kalametiya bird sanctuary	<ul><p>Kalametiya bird sanctuary is accessible from the village of Hungama, 21 km northeast of Tangalle. The sanctuary has covered Kalametiya brackish water mangrove lagoon and Kalametiya beach. <br> <br>It is a haven for many species of resident birds and migrant waterbirds specially species of migrant ducks. There are over 150 species of birds recorded in Kalametiya and many weaver bird nests can be found in the sanctuary. There are about 20 species of mammals, 41 species of fish, and 38 species of reptiles also living in the sanctuary.</p><p><br> Glossy ibis, White ibis, Painted snipe, Large swand plover, Ruddy turn stone, Clamorous reed warbler, Water cock, Ruddy crake, Pintail, Gargany, black-winged Stilt, Little pratincole, Alpine swift, Common redshank, Greenshank, Common & Green sandpipers are most common birds in the sanctuary. </p></ul>	1	B.jpg	2/14/19, 10:33 AM	View Edit Delete
