Hummanaya has considered the second largest blowhole in the world. 144	44	25	Ussangoda, Ramayana site	Ussangoda, Ramayana site	<ul>Ussangoda is a pre-historic archaeological site as well as a National Park located 28 km from Tangalle. The earth of the Ussangoda area is dark red. It is due to the high concentration of Ferric oxide on the earth in that area. The vegetation comprises moss, short grass, and bush. At the coast, cliffs are hangover a sandy beach.</br> <br>Ussangoda has a connection with the Indian Epic “Ramayana”. According to that Ussangoda was one airport used by King Ravana to land his peacock chariot. The legend monkey God “Hanuman” decided to test the strength of King Ravana’s Army. In the event, Hanuman was unfolded and the tail of hanuman was set on fire by King Ravana’s army. Then he managed to touch some parts of King Ravana’s empire which get fired. The sanctuary has covered Kalametiya brackish water mangrove lagoon and Kalametiya beach. <br> <br>It is a haven for many species of resident birds and migrant waterbirds specially species of migrant ducks. There are over 150 species of birds recorded in Kalametiya and many weaver bird nests can be found in the sanctuary. The relatively mild climate and finest series of bays with deepest blue water are compelling to feels that you are somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. The large series of bays in Tangalle, the southern tip of the island is protected by an enclosing reef that favours safe swimming and sunbathing.<br> <br>Parewella natural swimming area in front of Tangalle Resthouse is a stunning place for safe swimming.<br> <br>To the west of Tangalle, the adjoining beaches of Goyambokka and Pallikaduwa are offered excellent locations for sea bathing. Most of the up-market villas and hotels are located there.<br> <br>To the east of Tangalle, the long sandy beaches of Medaketiya and Medilla are located. The Portuguese and the Dutch use Galle as the main seaport on the island. A lot of historical, archaeological, and architectural colonial remains are there in Galle. Of which the Galle Fort, UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site is the main and the best. It is Asia's largest remaining fortress built by European occupiers. Even today the colonial-era buildings inside the fort, function as villas, antique shops, cafes, and restaurants without changing their old fashion.</li><li>Galle lighthouse the oldest in Sri Lanka was built in 1848 located in the Galle Fort area. However, the present lighthouse was erected in 1939 due to the old one was destroyed by fire in 1934. </li><li>Then visit the Old Nupe Market, Star Fort at Matara, Matara Fort, and Dondra Lighthouse. </li><li>The Old Nupe Market (Old Dutch Market) building was used for the market in Nupe.
