Description

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer you to Weligama Approximately 2 and a half hours’ drive.

En route, visit Galle Dutch Fort and its’ fortification, Star Fort Matara, Matara Fort, Old Nupe Market and Dondra Lighthouse.

The Portuguese and the Dutch use Galle as the main seaport on the island. A lot of historical, archaeological, and architectural colonial remains are there in Galle. Of which the Galle Fort is main and the best. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and Asia's largest remaining fortress built by European occupiers. Even today the colonial-era buildings inside the fort, function as villas, antique shops, cafes, and restaurants without changing their old fashion. The Dutch Reformed Church also known as “Groote Kerk”, inside the Galle fort built in the 18th century is another fascinating architectural design of the Dutch period.

Dondra Lighthouse is one of the 4 International Lighthouses in Sri Lanka.

Dinner and overnight stay at Parangi Weligama Bay

Optionally you can select Villa Claughton House, Dickwella for your stay. This villa hotel is a solo contextual modernism design done by Geoffrey Bawa in 1984.
