- Koneshwaram Hindu Temple situated atop of the Swami Rock is a classical medieval Hindu temple devoted to God Shiva, contains ornate shrines and a massive statue of Shiva.
According to Chronicles, King Mahasen was built Gokanna Viharaya in the 3rd century AD at the top of the rock.
